Menopause test — what to run once cycles have stopped.
Once cycles have stopped, the question isn't 'am I in menopause' — it's 'what does the next decade need?'. The post-menopausal panel looks different from the perimenopausal one.
Her Form runs the full HRT-readiness, bone and cardiometabolic picture in one at-home draw, then Robyn is available for an optional 1:1 protocol consult.
What we test
Hormonal: FSH, estradiol baseline (and progesterone if you're considering HRT).
Thyroid: TSH, free T3, free T4, antibodies — thyroid issues commonly emerge in this window.
Cardiometabolic: lipids, HbA1c, insulin — risk shifts post-menopause.
Bone: vitamin D, plus context for further DEXA referral if needed.
The markers that clarify the picture
Perimenopause Package
Navigate perimenopause with confidence.
- · Estradiol, progesterone, FSH
- · Bone & cardiovascular markers
- · HRT-readiness review
Can I take this on HRT?+
Yes. we'll tell you which markers are useful on HRT and which to interpret with caution.
Do you check bone density?+
We don't run DEXA — that's imaging. We run the bloodwork that flags whether DEXA is worth requesting, and we write the request rationale for you.
How often should I retest post-menopause?+
Annually is a good baseline — thyroid, cardiometabolic and bone markers can shift meaningfully over 12 months. If you start or adjust HRT, a retest at 6 months gives your prescriber a clean comparison.
I had my last period over a year ago — am I definitely in menopause?+
Medically yes — 12 consecutive months without a period defines menopause. That said, symptoms don't always settle immediately. Post-menopausal testing maps where your hormones have landed and identifies any new risk to manage (bone, heart, thyroid).
What does the at-home draw involve?+
A certified nurse visits your home at a time you choose. The draw takes 10–15 minutes; you eat right after. Samples go to our accredited lab partner. Results and written review arrive in 7–14 working days.
