Thyroid testing

Thyroid test for women — the panel TSH-only misses.

A 'normal' TSH does not rule out a thyroid issue. Women are 5–8x more likely than men to develop autoimmune thyroid disease, and the early picture often hides in free T3, free T4 and antibodies.

Her Form runs the full thyroid panel — not just TSH — and our health specialists reads it against your fatigue, weight, hair, mood and cycle symptoms.

What's in a full thyroid panel

TSH — the brain's request to the thyroid. Sensitive but easy to misread alone.

Free T4 — the storage hormone the thyroid releases.

Free T3 — the active hormone your cells actually use.

TPO antibodies — autoimmune signal (Hashimoto's). High antibodies + 'normal' TSH is one of the most-missed patterns in women.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Still unsure? Email hello@getherform.com.

My TSH was normal — why test the rest?+

TSH alone misses Hashimoto's (TPO antibodies), poor T4→T3 conversion, and central hypothyroidism. Roughly 1 in 4 women with thyroid symptoms have a 'normal' TSH.

When in my cycle should I test thyroid?+

Any day. Thyroid markers don't follow the menstrual cycle.

I'm on levothyroxine — can I still test?+

Yes. Take your dose at the usual time the day before, but skip it on the morning of the draw, then take it straight after. our health specialists will guide you on the form.

Can thyroid problems cause my periods to change?+

Yes. Hypothyroidism often causes heavier, more frequent or irregular periods; hyperthyroidism can make them lighter or absent. Thyroid disorders and perimenopause share so many symptoms that we include a full thyroid panel in every perimenopause workup.

What does TPO antibody positive mean?+

Positive TPO antibodies indicate autoimmune activity against the thyroid — the pattern seen in Hashimoto's disease. Many women with positive antibodies have a 'normal' TSH for years before levels shift. Identifying antibodies early lets you monitor more closely and act sooner.
